Pastor Justin Kim

“He Touched Me”

March 12/17

This is an Asia Season according to Pastor Kim. There will be a revival within these 5 nations: India, Indonesia, China, Malaysia and the Philippines.

Mark 1: 40-45

Jesus Heals a Man With Leprosy

40 A man with leprosy[a] came to him and begged him on his knees, “If you are willing, you can make me clean.”

41 Jesus was indignant.[b] He reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” 42 Immediately the leprosy left him and he was cleansed.

43 Jesus sent him away at once with a strong warning: 44 “See that you don’t tell this to anyone. But go, show yourself to the priest and offer the sacrifices that Moses commanded for your cleansing, as a testimony to them.” 45 Instead he went out and began to talk freely, spreading the news. As a result, Jesus could no longer enter a town openly but stayed outside in lonely places. Yet the people still came to him from everywhere.

Touch is very important as it is evident with babies in bonding. However the type of touch we are referring to is a form of hug which is very healing. (When one is upset, hugging symbolizes comfort and healing. Remembrance of nurturing mothers)

Leviticus 13:45-46

45 “Anyone with such a defiling disease must wear torn clothes, let their hair be unkempt,[a] cover the lower part of their face and cry out, ‘Unclean! Unclean!’ 46 As long as they have the disease they remain unclean. They must live alone; they must live outside the camp.

1) Jesus Touched the Sinner

There is an emphasis on Sinner. The sinner, in this case, was the leper but the fact that Jesus was filled with compassion and reached out to touch the sinner is significant. Once you touch a sinner, you are deemed unclean. It would be preposterous for Jesus out of all people to willingly touch the unclean.

Remember the verse “Laying hands on the sick will heal them” (something along those lines). That is what we are called to do; to lay hands on the sick. Although one must remember that while we can heal and set people free, we cannot bring salvation. It is when God anoints us that salvation is brought when Jesus touches our soul.

Matthew 17: 6-8

When the disciples heard this, they fell facedown to the ground, terrified. But Jesus came and touched them. “Get up,” he said. “Don’t be afraid.” When they looked up, they saw no one except Jesus.

In this verse, the disciples’ eyes were spiritually opened. This is where the analogy of “inner man” is established. The inner man which is in all of us is our inmost being where God touches us.

Among the disciples, there are 3 key people we must highlight. John, Peter and James whom Jesus loved the most. There will be a time during the revival we must pay attention to. We need to remember the end is coming. FunFact: Since we are made in His image, we stop aging at 33. (Symbolic isn’t it?)

2) Jesus touched the sick

Demons can enter emotions, mind and spirit through hurtful memories which serves as a gateway. Not all illnesses that we try to rebuke from the Devil originate from Satan but a large percentage of it does. The key way to heal someone is through touch.

Matthew 9:29

29 Then he touched their eyes and said, “According to your faith let it be done to you”;

Pastor Kim recommends the Book of Mark if you would like to learn more about wonders, signs and miracles.

Mark 7: 33

33 After he took him aside, away from the crowd, Jesus put his fingers into the man’s ears. Then he spit and touched the man’s tongue.

Did you know? There are mysterious functions of the hand.

  • it can determine certain things about your systems in the body
  • in this case the hand of God means great power
  • God: molds us with his hands just like with Potter and his clay

Analogy: Butterfly’s process transitions from a cocoon to a butterfly. Its process is very similar to our process as humans. God who is like the Potter works/molds us 75% not completely.

  • if we complain, the process stops and we never really reach our destiny
  • God will not use those who complain, (remember nothing is impossible?)
  • He works through those who have faith
  • he doesn’t need a crowd, he just needs one worshipper
  • ensure you trust in God, not anybody else, we must listen to Him carefully
  • *{Knowledge, action, and result}

Think:

A rash is healed by touch (miraculous) through a hug/bonding of some sort. Those with rash are often secluded. But hugs; are forms of embrace, it allows us to be social and connect with others.

3) Jesus’ touch is a Blessing

Who is the happiest in the World?

Koreans believe it si Bill Gates because money must be equivalent to happiness. However it is Koreans who are the most unhappy in the world. The happiest nation would be Brazillians.

Happiness is not found in the Bible. God never tells us to be happy. Happiness derives from the root word happpen. Which is biblical which further means blessing. With blessing it comes from bleeding. Why? Blessing comes from the sacrificial blood fo Christ.

Leviticus 14:1-9

Cleansing From Defiling Skin Diseases

14 The Lord said to Moses, “These are the regulations for any diseased person at the time of their ceremonial cleansing, when they are brought to the priest: The priest is to go outside the camp and examine them. If they have been healed of their defiling skin disease,[a]the priest shall order that two live clean birds and some cedar wood, scarlet yarn and hyssop be brought for the person to be cleansed. Then the priest shall order that one of the birds be killed over fresh water in a clay pot. He is then to take the live bird and dip it, together with the cedar wood, the scarlet yarn and the hyssop, into the blood of the bird that was killed over the fresh water. Seven times he shall sprinkle the one to be cleansed of the defiling disease, and then pronounce them clean. After that, he is to release the live bird in the open fields.

“The person to be cleansed must wash their clothes, shave off all their hair and bathe with water; then they will be ceremonially clean. After this they may come into the camp, but they must stay outside their tent for seven days. On the seventh day they must shave off all their hair; they must shave their head, their beard, their eyebrows and the rest of their hair. They must wash their clothes and bathe themselves with water, and they will be clean.

There were certain laws put in placed even for the lepers.

Joshua 1:8

Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.

Jesus Christ will come back to fulfill the law. (Restoration of Order)

We must give energy, money, time, ability, everything back to God.
