Who We Are

Our Community

We are a community trying to follow after Jesus. We do what we do because we sincerely believe that by empowering the next generation to fulfill God’s destiny for their lives, we can raise a generation of world-changers. Come be a part of this story!

Our Pastors

Pastor Ferdy Tjahjadi

Associate Pastor Nanda Kuswanto
Pastor Ferdy loves three things: eating, making jokes, and making jokes about eating. He enjoys taking the time to appreciate the small things in his life, like early mornings and bright evenings. He has a heart to see everyone (even the troublemakers and misfits he is privileged to know) become who God made them to be.
Pastor Nanda loves to chew on two things: food and God’s Word (usually at the same time). He enjoys playing video games when he isn’t helping others play the game of life, a pun he would appreciate you not making around him. He has a heart to see God bring new birth into the lives of young people around him.

Our Stories
Pastor Ferdy and Pastor Amy

⠀⠀⠀”Who would’ve thought we would start a church community here in Toronto? We didn’t know we would even immigrate here, let alone start a church. And yet, today, we are privileged to be shepherding a community of young people and students.
⠀⠀⠀A pastor friend once told us to love our young congregation as our own sons and daughters, to treat them as our own children. We strive to be a family for those separated from their own, and to provide a home for those lacking one.
⠀⠀⠀We believe the revival of a city begins at home, when young people experience what it means for their pastors to sincerely want to see revival in their lives. We want to walk with them, laugh with them, weep with them, stay with them, and get to know God with them. Finally, we will celebrate with them when they experience answered prayers and what it means to have been brought from death to life.
⠀⠀⠀As for us, we and our family will follow God – and that family is growing everyday.”

Associate Pastor Nanda and Worship Pastor Maureen

⠀⠀⠀”Okay, this was not part of the plan. When we came to the first service of GBI Toronto many years ago, we never expected to be part of its leadership team one day. When a visiting minister told us that we would be pastors someday, we had the chance to bail out, but I didn’t want to emulate Jonah’s marine achievement.
⠀⠀⠀We still remember hanging out in Pastor Ferdy’s living room, talking about life, marriage, and spiritual growth until dawn. In the same spirit, we welcome anyone into our home, where we would listen, discuss, and discover how to apply the word of God in our lives – even those difficult and challenging verses in the Scriptures.
⠀⠀⠀We believe that, by the revelation of the Holy Spirit, the Bible is the source of endless wisdom for our lives, and we wish to instill the love for the Word of God in everyone, especially from a young age.
⠀⠀⠀Now we serve in the spiritual home that has changed our lives and brought us into maturity in Christ. Our joy is to witness other people being transformed in the same way out of their personal encounter with Jesus.”
